GPT-5 is about to launch?
Since the release of GPT-4 – OpenAI’s most recent significant Generative Pre-trained Transformer (GPT) release in March 2023, ChatGPT users have been eagerly awaiting the next major update.
There has been no confirmation of an important new model release, although OpenAI released GPT-4o earlier this year which was an update to GPT-4 with enhanced text, vision and audio capabilities.
Sam Altman – just gave a formal update on the status of GPT-5 in a Reddit AMA session.
Regarding GPT-5’s features and release date CEO Altman said, “We have a few very good releases planned coming later this year as well! nothing that we are going to call gpt-5”.

Anticipating new Model
Users may expect a new model release by the end of this year as per the Altman’s statement even though GPT-5 itself might not be in OpenAI’s immediate plan.

When asked why GPT-5 is taking so long to deploy, Altman responded, “We can’t ship as many things simultaneously as we’d like to because all of these models have grown quite complex. We also have to deal with a lot of limitations and difficult choices over how to allocate our resources among so many excellent ideas ”
OpenAI challenges Google with ChatGPT Search
In the meanwhile OpenAI demonstrated a new search feature in ChatGPT on Friday, bringing it on scale with Google and Microsoft’s Bing search.
The GPT-4o model drives the new search operation which is a better version of the SearchGPT prototype that the company presented earlier this year.
Depending on what the user is looking for the ChatGPT search function is immediately activated. By clicking on the new search online button which is next to the attachment icon. users may also manually enable the search feature.
CEO of OpenAI responded to a Reddit user who asked what advantages SearchGPT had over Google by saying, “For many queries, I find it to be a way faster/easier way to get the information I’m looking for.”
I am expecting this, especially with questions that need for deeper analysis. A time when a search query may dynamically produce a unique web page in response is yet another thing that I’m enthusiastic about to be presented!
ChatGPT 5 or newer Version may have below features

- Because of its more extensive general knowledge and problem-solving skills- The GPT-5 model will be able to answer difficult questions with greater precision.
