Strong actions against Pakistan after Jammu & Kashmir terror attack
India has taken major steps after a deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The attack claimed the lives of 26 people.
The Indian government has made it clear that there will be zero tolerance for cross-border terrorism.

7 key measures taken by India against Pakistan in phase I
After serious talks, In Phase I India announced a total of seven important actions. Five were declared right after the attack, and two more were added the next day. These actions are meant to show a strong message of peace with responsibility.
Government releases Kashmir terror attack suspect sketches
1. Suspension of the Indus waters treaty
- Indian government has suspended the Indus waters treaty signed in 1960.
- This treaty helped manage water sharing between the two countries.
- The suspension will stay unless there is clear and permanent action by Pakistan to stop terrorism from crossing borders.
2. Closure of Attari integrated check post
- The Attari border crossing between India and Pakistan is now closed.
- People who had already crossed into India with valid permission will be allowed to return before 1st May.
3. Cancellation of SAARC visa exemptions
- Pakistani nationals can no longer use the SAARC Visa Exemption Scheme (SVES).
- All visas given under this scheme have been canceled.
- Pakistani visitors with these visas must leave India within 48 hours.
4. Removal of military diplomats
- Pakistan’s defense, navy, and air advisors in New Delhi must leave within 7 days.
- India will also bring its military staff back from the Indian High Commission in Islamabad.
5. Reduction of embassy staff
- The number of staff at both countries’ embassies will be reduced from 55 to 30.
- This change must be completed by 1st May.
6. Suspension of visa services
- India has stopped giving any new visas to Pakistani citizens.
- All Pakistani nationals in India must leave by 27th April.
- People with medical visas can stay until 29th April only.
7. Changes in the border ceremony
- The daily Retreat Ceremony at Attari, Hussainiwala and Sadki will be simpler.
- The traditional handshake between Indian and Pakistani guards has been stopped.
- The border gates will remain closed during the ceremony.
- BSF said this shows India’s firm stand for peace and against provocation.
It seems that the Phase II of action will be taken as more deadly and lethal than the revenge of Pulwama
