1st Candidates List declared
On Monday, the BJP or Bhartiya Janata Party published a preliminary roster of 44 candidates seeking seats in the 90-member Jammu and Kashmir Assembly.
Further it was decided to withdraw this list and release an updated one that included the names of candidates for 15 constituencies that would be voting in Phase 1, 10 for Phase 2, and 19 for Phase 3.
BJP is not very popular in the Valley, has chosen to run candidates in Pampore, Shopian, Anantnag West, and Anantnag, among other Kashmiri constituencies.

Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Elections 2024 : Famous Candidates
Senior party member Sofi Yousuf, who normally stands from Pahalgam in the Bijbehara constituency, has been nominated by the party. Some of the Pahalgam villages have been included in the Bijbehara constituency as a result of the most recent separation. Yousuf is up against Iltija Mufti of the PDP.
Along with announcing candidates for Pampore, Rajpora, Shopian, Anantnag, and Anantnag West, the party also declared Veer Saraf as its nominee for the Anantang East constituency.

Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Elections 2024 | Phases details
The BJP’s Central Election Committee assembled on Sunday night for the purpose to select the party’s chosen candidates for the elections.
On September 18, September 25, and October 1, there will be three phases to the elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
Voter counting has been scheduled for October 4, and this will be the first election after Article 370 was abolished.

In 2014’s most recent assembly elections, the BJP gained 25 seats. The party is working diligently to counter the challenge posed by a rejuvenated Congress that has partnered with the National Conference, particularly in the Jammu and Kashmir area, which has been a BJP strength since 2014.
