Now The Development Plan Focuses on Women, Students, Farmers and Growth

Total 37 important decisions were approved in a big cabinet meeting held at Lok Bhavan under the leadership of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

During the meeting it was mainly focused on the broad scenario of progress in various sectors in Uttar Pradesh. These decisions are aimed at improving the lives of people across the state and accelerating development.

The recent decisions of the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet are expected to boost economic growth, improve education and improve the lives of women, students, farmers and workers.

Top 8 key highlights from the Cabinet Meeting

(i). Stamp duty relief for Women

With a new rule women will now be able to save more while buying property. Earlier, one percent discount on stamp duty was available only on properties up to Rs 10 lakh. Now this limit has been increased to Rs 1 crore.

  • This step promotes women empowerment.
  • Helps women move towards financial independence.
  • Encourages property ownership among women.

 

(ii). Tablets instead of Smartphones for students

Students will now get tablets under the Swami Vivekananda Yuva Sashaktikaran Yojana. Earlier, smartphones were being distributed. So far 60 lakh devices have been distributed. A new target has been set to distribute tablets to 140 lakh more students in the next two years to improve their skills, education etc.

  • Supports digital learning in schools and colleges.
  • Helps students connect with online study material and live courses.
  • Encourages tech-friendly education methods.

 

(iii). Upgrading polytechnic colleges

In partnership with Tata Technologies approx. 121 polytechnic colleges will be upgraded into Centers of Excellence. This major project will cost around Rs. 7,800 crore. Now it will –

  • Focus on improving technical education.
  • Provide better job opportunities for students.
  • Bring world class facilities to technical institutes.

 

(iv). Boost to Dairy and Industry in Noida

The state government has approved the sale of 4.62 hectares of land of Parag Dairy in Noida for Rs 101 crore. A new factory will be set up in place of the old factory. Also a drone manufacturing plant will be built by MS Ref Company in Sector 81 with an investment of Rs 800 crore.

  • Creates new industrial zones.
  • Generates employment in Noida and nearby areas.
  • Improves the dairy infrastructure and local economy.

 

(v). Chitrakoot and Jhansi link expressway

A new 15.87-km four lane expressway has been approved. This road will connect Chitrakoot and Jhansi and may expand to six lanes in the future. The project cost is Rs. 939 crore and will be completed in 548 days. it will support

  • To improves road connectivity in the region.
  • To boost local businesses and transportation.
  • To encourages tourism and trade along the route.

(vi). Old pension scheme for eligible employees

Around 2,000 state employees whose jobs were advertised before 28th-Mar-2005 can now opt for the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) instead of the National Pension System (NPS). The last date to apply is 30th-Nov-2025.

  • Offers a secure retirement plan.
  • Gives choice to eligible workers.
  • Supports long-term welfare of state employees.

(vii). Legislative assembly monsoon session

(viii). Agricultural development with the assistance of the World Bank

A new agricultural project has been approved with World Bank support. It will focus on food processing, storage and exports near Jewar Airport in Noida. Farmers of Bundelkhand and Purvanchal will get the benefit of selling their products globally. Also, an investment of Rs 4,000 crore will be made for fish hatchery seed production in Unnao. It will support to

  • Boost farmer income and productivity.
  • Strengthen rural economy.
  • Connect local produce to international markets.
