Poison mixed in the breath of Capital – Delhi
Delhi’s air quality has reached a new low with the nation’s highest AQI of 310 recorded on Monday.
Compared to the prior day this is a significant gain. As Diwali approaches closer resulting people are becoming more worried about breathing toxic air. People are breathing really bad quality air for the first time this season.
There are 238 CPCB (Central Pollution Control Board) pollution testing stations throughout the country.

Poor AQI in 18 sub-centers:
- 289 AQI in Bhiwani
- 283 AQI in Rohtak
- 277 AQI in Jind
- 291 AQI in Hanumangarh.
With 257 AQI recorded in Ghaziabad has the second-worst air quality in the NCR, behind Delhi
- Greater Noida had 183 AQI
- Noida had 252 AQI
- Gurugram had 210 AQI
- Faridabad had 165 AQI
Asthma and pneumonia can arise from extended periods of polluted air. Due to bad weather calm cool breezes and extra emissions from sources like burning stubble the second phase of GRAP is now in force.

Until Thursday, the air quality will be in the extremely low range
According to the CPCB (Central Pollution Control Board) 10 places including Shadipur and RK Puram had extremely severe air quality. while 22 regions including Bawana and North Campus had extremely poor air quality.
According to the IITM the wind on Monday blew between 6 to 10 kilometers per hour from the southeast to the northeast.
Similar wind speeds of 8 to 10 km/h are predicted for Tuesday but a shift to a north to north-east direction is expected on Wednesday.
The wind direction for Thursday is expected to be from the north-west to the north-east.
The share of stubble was 2.881 percent.
On Monday, more than 500 cases of grass burning were reported in North India by IITM, resulting in 2.881% of Delhi’s air pollution.
On Tuesday, this might rise to 6.86 percent. Data from the Decision Support System indicates that transportation contributes 9.953% of pollution and garbage burning contributes 0.989%. Burning hairs continues to be a major source of air pollution.
Monday’s maximum AQI was observed in several parts of Delhi
- Shadipur: 500 AQI
- RK Puram: 493 AQI
- Sonia Vihar: 457 AQI
- Mundka: 439 AQI
- Anand Vihar: 431 AQI
- Ashok Vihar: 420 AQI
- Jahangirpuri: 400 AQI
- North Campus: 398 AQI
