About Railway Recruitment Board (RRB)

Railway Recruitment Control Board, commonly known as RRB, is a central government organization that manages recruitment for Indian Railways. It works under the Ministry of Railways, Government of India.

The main role of RRB is to select staff for Group C and Group D non-gazetted posts, including technical and non-technical positions.

RRB was formed in the year 1998 and functions under the Railway Board with its main office located in New Delhi.

RRB Level 1 Recruitment 2026 Notification

Railway Recruitment Boards have released the RRB Level 1 Recruitment 2026 notification under CEN No. 09/2025. This recruitment drive aims to fill Level 1 posts under the 7th Central Pay Commission across different zones of Indian Railways.

A total of 22,195 vacancies have been announced for candidates from all parts of India. The online application process starts on 31st Jan 2026 and ends on 02nd Mar 2026 at 11:59 PM.

RRB Recruitment 2026 | Salary Structure

Selected candidates will receive an initial monthly pay of Rs. 18,000 under Level 1 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix, along with other allowances as applicable.

• Minimum Age: 18 Years

• Maximum Age: 33 Years

• Age calculation date: 01 January 2026

RRB Recruitment 2026 | Age Relaxation Rules

• OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 Years

• SC / ST: 5 Years

• Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (UR / EWS): 10 Years

• Additional relaxation for PwBD candidates as per category rules

RRB Recruitment 2026 | Educational Qualification

Applicants must have passed 10th Class (Matriculation) or hold an ITI certificate or an equivalent qualification.

A National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) issued by NCVT is also accepted.

The recruitment process is completed in four stages:

1. Computer Based Test (CBT)
2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
3. Document Verification (DV)
4. Medical Examination (ME)

RRB Recruitment 2026 | Application Fee Details

• SC / ST / Ex-Servicemen / PwBD / Female / Transgender / Minority / EBC:
  Rs. 250 (fully refundable after appearing in CBT)

• All Other Categories:
  Rs. 500 (Rs. 400 refundable after appearing in CBT)

The application fee can be paid online only through Net Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card or UPI.

3. Log in and select the preferred RRB zone or region
4. Fill in personal, educational, and other required details carefully

7. Make corrections during the modification window from 05th to 14th Mar 2026 if required
