The ruling party has 202 members in the 288-member house, with the BJP accounting for 102, the ACP for 40, the Shiv Sena for 38, and other parties for 22. With 15 seats up for the taking, the opposition includes 37 members from Congress, 16 from the Shiv Sena (UBT), 16 from the ACP (SHPA), and six from minor parties.

Many things have changed since 2019

Significant changes in politics have taken place in Maharashtra over the last five years, with the Nationalist Congress Party, Shiv Sena, and BJP formed a Mahayuti government.

Disagreements over the Chief Minister post caused the BJP and Shiv Sena to split the alliance after the 2019 assembly elections.

As a result, several coalitions and governments were formed, and power was shared among them.

There were instances of early morning oath ceremonies and government splits. Both Shiv Sena and NCP faced internal rebellions at different times. There are now six significant political parties in Maharashtra, increased from the previous four, and they are all fighting for influence and power.
