The new AI agent that Google is reportedly developing has the ability to take over the machine we’re using, but it’s not as terrible as it sounds.

According to reports this AI agent – called Project Jarvis (supposedly a reference to the JARVIS voice assistant from the Iron Man movies) has been specially trained to take over a user’s web browser in order to do responsibilities such as performing research, making decisions or organizing travel etc.

Phase to Automate Web-Based Activities

Project Jarvis will be a user-facing tool that runs in Google Chrome and automates regular web-based activities, according to a report by The Information.

According to the source Google will be announcing the AI agent and its upcoming flagship Gemini AI model – Gemini 2.0, as early as December.

Following the preview Jarvis may be made accessible to early testers and might be used in Google’s marketing campaign that showcases the features of its most recent Gemini model.

Thinking about… How will ‘Jarvis’ AI work?

According to reports- Jarvis will operate by collecting “frequent screenshots” of the user’s screen and using the information to execute instructions like clicking a button or entering text.

Jarvis is described as functioning “relatively slowly”. however, since it requires a few seconds to analyze information before responding.

What to Expect in Coming Weeks?

Although there are no pictures or videos to show how Jarvis would function, the source stated that they had communicated with three individuals who had direct knowledge of the scenario.

Researchers will find out more about Project Jarvis and its capacity for innovation in the upcoming weeks as December approach.

Questions in mind, yet to be answered

Although Jarvis seems to be the cutting-edge technology we have been predicting, the most recent study offers more questions than it offers answers.

For example, we do not yet know if Jarvis will run in the cloud or on-device, which raises serious privacy concerns. In addition, it’s unclear if Jarvis will simply function with Google Chrome on the web or if it would also operate with the Google Chrome app on mobile devices.
