This innovation is led by the Shenyang Aircraft Design Institute a branch of China’s state owned Aviation Industry Corporation.

Chief Designer Wang Yongqing with over forty years of experience, has been at the forefront of incorporating AI technologies into the creation of China’s most sophisticated warplanes

• Using large language models to explore new ideas and approaches in aerospace research.

(ii). Advancements in Chinese fighter jets

China’s incorporation of AI also reaches its military progress especially in the creation of fighter jets.

The Shenyang J-15 which is referred to as the Flying Shark is a fourth generation multi-role fighter aircraft designed for carrier operations and developed for the People’s Liberation Army Naval Air Force

Key features of the J-15 include

• Suitable for all seasons with dual engine design.
• Carrier based capabilities with CATOBAR launch capability in the upgraded J-15T version.
• Contemporary fifth generation avionics and structural enhancements for aircraft carrier missions

The J-15 will be replaced by the fifth-generation Shenyang J-35 stealth fighter which has advanced stealth features and versatile capabilities.
