National Insurance Company Limited (NICL) is the oldest government owned general insurance company in India. It began in 1906 in Kolkata and became a nationalized company in 1972.

Now it is fully owned by the Government of India. NICL provides many kinds of insurance like health, vehicle, and property insurance and works in different parts of India as well as in Nepal.

National Insurance Company Limited (NICL) is looking to hire 266 Administrative Officers (Generalists and Specialists) for Scale I positions.

Applications can be submitted online by graduates and postgraduates. The deadline to submit the online application is 3rd July-2025.

NICL Recruitment 2025 | Who can apply

(i). Age Limit (as of 01st-May-2025)

Minimum age is 21 years and maximum is 30 years. This means the date of birth should be between 2 May 1995 and 1 May 2004 (including both dates)

Relaxation in age

• • SC/ST: 5 years
  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
  • Persons with Disabilities: 10 years
  • Others: As per government rules

 

(ii). Education Required (as of 01st-May-2025)

• Information Technology: Must have BE/ B.Tech/ ME/ M.Tech in Computer Science or IT or MCA with at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ ST).

• Finance: Must have CA (ICAI) or Cost Accountant (ICWA) or B.Com/ M.Com with at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ ST).

• Doctors (MBBS): Must have MBBS, MD, MS or a Postgraduate Medical Degree from a recognized university. A foreign degree is also accepted if approved by the National Medical Commission. A valid medical registration is needed.

• Generalist: Must be a Graduate or Postgraduate in any subject with at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ ST).

• Automobile Engineers: Must have BE/ B.Tech/ ME/ M.Tech in any engineering field plus a Diploma (minimum one year) in Automobile Engineering with at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ ST).

• Legal: Must be a Graduate or Postgraduate in Law with at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ ST candidates).

NICL Recruitment 2025 | How selection will happen

(i).First Stage – Preliminary Exam
Online test with 100 marks. Time given will be 60 minutes.

(ii). Second Stage – Main Exam
Also online, with a total of 280 marks.

(iii). Third Stage – Interview
Candidates who clear the main exam will be called for an interview.

(i). For SC, ST, and PwBD candidates: Rs. 250 (includes GST and other charges)

(ii). For all other candidates: Rs. 1000 (includes GST and other charges)

• Eligible candidates can fill out the online application form on the National Insurance NICL IBPS Portal from 12 June 2025 to 3 July 2025.

• The following must be uploaded:
  • Recent photo (size: 4.5×3.5 cm, file size: 20–50 KB, format: .jpg)
  • Signature (file size: 10–20 KB, format: .jpg)
  • Left thumb impression (size: 3×3 cm, file size: 20–50 KB, format: .jpg)
  • Handwritten declaration (size: 10×5 cm, file size: 50–100 KB, format: .jpg)

• All scanned documents should be in true color, .jpg or .jpeg format, scanned at 200 DPI. Signature and declaration should not be in capital letters.

• Pay the application fee online. No need to send any physical documents.

 

NICL Recruitment 2025 | Salary Details

(i). Basic Pay: Rs. 50,925 in the pay scale of Rs. 50,925 – 2500 (14 years) – Rs. 85,925 – 2710 (4 years) – Rs. 96,765

(ii). Total Salary: Around Rs. 90,000 per month in big cities

(iii). Other Benefits: Pension under NPS, gratuity, leave travel subsidy, medical cover, group personal accident insurance, and company or rented housing facility

(iv). For MBBS Doctors: Eligible for Non-Practicing Allowance (NPA) at 25% of the basic pay, based on certain rules.
