Free hand to the armed forces, complete operational freedom Phase II

Tuesday 29th-April-2025, A high level emergency meeting was held following a deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Prime Minister Narendra Modi called for an urgent the meeting at his official residence to discuss the serious situation. Key national leaders and top defense officials joined the meeting to decide the next steps after the attack.

Who attended the high level security meeting?

The meeting lasted about 90 minutes. All top military leaders shared inputs and discussed plans for a strong response to the terror strike.

PM Modi gives full freedom to armed forces

According to officials who spoke to news agency PTI, Prime Minister Modi made it clear that the Indian Armed Forces have complete freedom to choose:

(i). The method of action

(ii). The target locations

(iii). The timing of the response

This means the Army, Navy and Air Force will decide how and when to act based on their strategy and readiness.

Strong Message on Terrorism by Prime Minister

During the meeting PM Modi said that it is the nation’s duty to give a powerful reply to terrorism. His words show deep trust in India’s military forces.

Here is what was reported by PTI from sources close to the government:

“It is our national resolve to deal a crushing blow to terrorism.”

This statement reflects the government’s clear stand against those who try to create fear and violence in the country.

What happened in the Pahalgam terror attack?

Pahalgam, The recent terror attack shocked the nation even the whole world too. The attackers targeted a group of civilians including tourists. In total 26 innocent people lost their lives.

Security forces believe this was a planned attack carried out by trained terrorists. Investigations are ongoing to identify the people behind the strike.

Defense leaders prepare for Phase 2 Plan

India’s top military officials are already working on a detailed plan to respond.

Strong action is expected in the coming days.

Sources say that-

(i). The armed forces are in a state of full readiness

(ii). Intelligence reports are being carefully examined

(iii). Surveillance along the borders has been increased

Rajnath Singh already met PM earlier

Before this major emergency meeting, Defense minister Rajnath Singh had already met with Prime Minister Modi at his residence on Monday. That meeting was likely held to discuss initial inputs and prepare for the wider security review on Tuesday.

No place for terror in India

After this sudden meeting, sources confirmed that Prime Minister Modi has decided not to leave any stone unturned in the fight against terrorism.

As per the reports-

(i). The government has decided to go after the terrorists involved in the Pahalgam attack

(ii). The aim is to find not only the attackers but also those who helped or supported them

(iii). Action will be taken inside and outside the country if needed

PM Modi said In strong words, the country will follow these enemies “to the ends of the earth” and make sure the harshest punishment is given for killing innocent lives.

A joint and united stand against terror

This meeting shows that India’s leadership stands united in the fight against terror. The armed forces, political leaders and intelligence agencies are all working together.

The people who lost their lives in the Pahalgam attack will not be forgotten. Their loss has only made the country more determined to stop such violence in the future.
