New Showroom Ready to Boost The Presence of Electric Cars in India

Global electric car leader Tesla is growing its footprint in India. A brand new Tesla Experience Centre will open on 11th-Aug-2025 at the Worldmark 3 Complex, Aerocity New Delhi.

This marks Tesla’s second showroom in the country and strengthening its push for clean mobility in India’s capital city.

The announcement follows the recent opening of Tesla’s first Indian showroom on 15th-July-2025  located at Maker Maxity Mall, Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) Mumbai.

The event was attended by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis who praised the company’s arrival and encouraged the brand to consider local manufacturing and R&D investment too.

Talking about present scenario, Both showrooms are part of Tesla’s strategy to promote electric cars in India.

The new showroom in Delhi aims to make test drives of vehicles, customer support and experience of EV technology easier in the northern region.

By offering world class EVs like the Model Y and reliable charging support, Tesla is actively shaping the future of electric vehicles in India.

Tesla Model Y – price, range and features

The Tesla Model Y is now available in India starting at Rs 59.89 lakh (Ex-showroom Price) that comes in two battery variants –

  • Standard Rear : Wheel Drive:  60 kWh battery pack offering up to 500 km range (WLTP certified)
  • Long-Range Rear : Wheel Drive: 75 kWh battery pack delivering up to 622 km range (WLTP certified)

The Tesla Model Y has Tesla’s advanced features and an aerodynamic design that is suitable for Indian roads. Although the official delivery date has not been announced yet but the initial priority will be given to cities like Mumbai, Pune, Delhi and Gurugram.

As part of its rollout, Tesla has updated its website (Shown at the bottom of this page)  to allow vehicle registrations across all Indian states and union territories. This move gives better access to electric vehicle ownership beyond just metro cities.

Interestingly, Tesla is also offering a Full Self Driving (FSD) package for an additional Rs 6 lakh for those interested in the cutting edge technology. However, this feature will be introduced in India at a later stage.

 

First Tesla charging station in India

Tesla has also launched its first official charging station in India at One BKC, Mumbai. facility at station includes –

  • 4 V4 Superchargers (DC fast chargers) with peak power of 250 kW
  • 4 AC destination chargers delivering 11 kW charging speed

Charging Costs:

  • DC fast charging: Rs 24 per kW
  • AC charging: Rs 14 per kW

At the moment this station only supports faster and more convenient charging for Tesla owners in the Mumbai area. More charging stations are expected to open in other cities soon.
