” The Chandipura virus was identified to be the cause of death for a four-year-old child in Gujarat on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, by the National Institute of Virology (NIV) in Pune.

A total of 29 cases have been recorded from almost a dozen areas, and the death toll from suspected instances of the virus has now reached 15. Of the 29 cases, two hail from Rajasthan, one is from Madhya Pradesh, and 26 are from Gujarat.

Of the fifteen casualties, thirteen are from the State and one each from Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, two of the state’s neighbors. “
