A Strong Response to Terror Attacks, 35–40 Pakistani soldiers were killed in Indian retaliation

 

In early May 2025 a significant military operation unfolded between India and Pakistan, following a deadly terrorist attack in Indian administered Kashmir. The Indian Armed Forces launched Operation-Sindoor to target terrorist camps across the border, leading to heightened tensions and subsequent ceasefire agreements.

Background: The Pahalgam Attack

On 22nd April 2025, militants attacked near Pahalgam in Kashmir, resulting in the deaths of 28 civilians, predominantly Hindu tourists. This tragic event intensified existing tensions between India and Pakistan with India attributing the attack to Pakistan-backed groups, a claim Pakistan denied.

 

Launch of Operation-Sindoor

In response to the Pahalgam attack India initiated Operation-Sindoor on 7th May 2025. The operation aimed to dismantle terrorist infrastructure without targeting civilian or Pakistani military establishments.

Key Targets of the Operation:

  • Chaklala Airbase
  • Rafiqui Airbase
  • Rahim Yar Khan
  • Sargodha
  • Bhulari
  • Jacobabad

These sites were identified as hubs for terrorist activities. The Indian Air Force conducted precise strikes to minimize collateral damage.

 

Indian retaliation | Pakistan’s Response

Following the strikes Pakistan launched drones and aircraft into Indian airspace, targeting both civilian and military areas. While most were intercepted, some caused minimal damage. Pakistan also false claimed to have downed several Indian aircraft

 

Casualties and Damage

According to Indian officials, approximately 35-40 Pakistani military personnel were killed during the operation. India reported the loss of five soldiers. Pakistan majorly experienced infrastructure damage due to such retaliation.

Ceasefire Agreement

On 10th- May 2025  under international mediation, India and Pakistan agreed to a ceasefire. However, sporadic violations were reported shortly after, with both sides accusing each other of breaching the agreement.

 

Indian retaliation| International Reactions

The global community, including the United States, China, and the United Kingdom, urged both nations to exercise restraint. Diplomatic efforts were initiated to de-escalate the situation and promote peace in the region.

 

Operation Sindoor will be continued…

Operation Sindoor marked a significant moment in India-Pakistan relations, highlighting the ongoing challenges in addressing cross-border terrorism and maintaining regional stability. Continued diplomatic engagement remains crucial to prevent further escalations.

However, Operation Sindoor directed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and led by the Indian Air Force, will continue until all terrorists and their terrorism are eliminated.
